Brightens dark times and keeps body and mind moving
The installation Wiener Lichtblicke by artist Victoria Coeln combines human rights with art at ten squares, parks and streets in the city. As soon as dusk falls, the lights come on: rainbow colours, white light and even graphics of artistic fantasy animals – like Deborah Sengl’s zebra tiger – shine every night. For the walk in the form of a schnitzel (or in the form of Austria) it is best to use the ready-made online map in Google Maps with pictures and information on all places.
Space and art for all as a human right – walk to significant places.
The seven-kilometre walk to all the installations takes about one and a half hours, starting from the Platz der Menschenrechte in front of the Museumsquartier. It takes you from the 4th to the 3rd district, on to the Innere Stadt, then to the 8th district, from there to the 7th district and back to the start. An overview map of the tour can be downloaded from the website of NIPAS, which is responsible for the design. On the same website, a Google Map is embedded on which the individual stations are also marked, supplemented by photos and explanatory texts on the respective locations of the installations. If you star the embedded map, you can access it regularly in your Google Maps app.
